Teen Arrested With Illegal Gun on Bangkok Street
A 19-year-old was arrested in Bangkok's Bang Khae district after police found an unregistered revolver in his jacket pocket during a late-night motorcycle stop; he claimed he was returning the weapon to an older friend.
Bang Khae patrol officers arrested a 19-year-old carrying an unlicensed firearm on Soi Ramintra, claiming an older friend had left it with him and he was returning it. Police took immediate legal action.
At 1:50 a.m. on September 8, 2025, Colonel Anant Worasart, commander of Bang Khae Police Station, together with deputies and officers, directed Senior Sergeant Yongyut Ketuaeng, Sergeant Wattana Linkrun, and Bang Khae patrol officers to arrest the suspect, a 19-year-old identified by pseudonym, along with a modified revolver. Charges filed were possession of an unregistered firearm and carrying it through a city, village, or public area without authorization.
The arrest occurred while patrol officers were conducting security operations in their assigned area. At Soi Ramintra 39, they spotted two teenage males on a motorcycle exhibiting suspicious behavior and ordered them to stop for inspection. A modified revolver was found concealed in the long-sleeved jacket pocket of the rear passenger.
When questioned, the suspect stated the firearm belonged to an older friend who had left it with him, and he was in the process of returning it when police encountered him. He was transferred to Bang Khae Police Station for further legal proceedings.
