Two Teenagers Arrested for Carrying Guns in Bangkok Neighborhood
Bangkok police arrested two teenagers after catching them carrying illegally owned semi-automatic pistols into a townhouse in the Bang Kheng district. The arrests followed an investigation into reports of youths displaying weapons in the neighborhood, which had alarmed residents. Both suspects were charged with illegal weapons possession and transportation without proper authorization.
Bang Kheng police arrested a 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman on August 19, 2025, after they were found carrying semi-automatic firearms into a townhouse in the Lat Pla Kaeo area of Bang Kheng district in Bangkok. Officers seized a 0.38mm semi-automatic pistol with one magazine and a black holster from the man, and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol with one magazine from the woman. The arrests were made outside a townhouse following an investigation into reports of youths displaying weapons in the neighborhood, which had alarmed nearby residents.
According to investigators, a group of teenagers had been recklessly brandishing firearms at the townhouse, causing fear and concern about public safety in the area. Officers observed the suspects exiting a vehicle and carrying the firearms toward the townhouse entrance, prompting officers to intercept and seize the weapons as evidence.
Both suspects admitted during questioning that they did not possess licenses to own or carry firearms. They were charged with illegal possession of firearms and transporting firearms through a residential area or public space without authorization. They have been handed over to Bang Kheng Police Station for further legal proceedings.
