Thailand Appoints New Bangkok Administrator and 10 Senior Officials
Thaiwut Khankhaew has been appointed Bangkok's 23rd Metropolitan Administrator, taking office October 1, with 10 senior officials promoted to deputy and inspector roles across various departments.
The Royal Gazette published a royal decree on September 7, 2569, appointing Thaiwut Khankhaew as the 23rd Bangkok Metropolitan Administrator, effective October 1, 2569. Khankhaew, born June 3, 2512, previously served as Deputy Administrator and holds degrees in civil engineering from Rajamangala University of Technology Thewes and a master's degree in public administration from Sripatum University. He has completed training through the Royal Thai Army's Defence College and the National Anti-Corruption Commission's advanced anti-corruption course.
Five department directors were promoted to Deputy Administrator positions: Pichmai Rueungsil (from Education Office), Jetsada Chantraprapha (from Water Management), Kanchana Phupipattapon (from Social Development), Piya Phutkhlom (from Municipal Affairs, now an Inspector), and Sithiporn Somkitsamporn (from Traffic and Transport, now an Inspector).
Additionally, five officials were appointed as Inspectors: Panchaphat Lukdi and Phusdi Promayan (both Deputy Administrators), Charatsri Rattaman (Deputy Director, Digital Office), Rujira Arinthorn (Deputy Director, Culture and Tourism), and Peeraya Somchaiyannont (Deputy Director, Public Health).
