28-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Car Near Hua Hin
A 28-year-old man was found dead from a gunshot wound in his car near Hua Hin after going missing since September 5, with police still investigating whether his death was suicide or murder.
Hua Hin Provincial Police responded to a report on the evening of September 7 and found a black Honda Civic parked in a wooded area near Petchkasem Road, approximately 200 meters from the Hua Hin highway checkpoint in Khao Tao subdistrict. Officers led by superintendent Kampanart Na Vijai, along with investigators, medical staff, and rescue workers, discovered a 28-year-old man dead in the driver's seat with a gunshot wound to the head. The deceased, identified as Bawn, had been reported missing by relatives since September 5 after posting concerning messages on Facebook that alarmed his family.
A witness named O, age 28, reported first spotting the vehicle parked at the location around 10 p.m. on September 5 with the interior light and music on. He noticed it again on September 6 in the same spot, and on the evening of September 7 found it parked without music or lights. Concerned, he alerted local police. As a former rescue volunteer, he helped officers preliminary check the vehicle using his phone's flashlight and discovered the body, prompting them to secure the scene.
Officers found a .38 caliber gun on the vehicle floor and collected it as evidence. Initial investigation suggests the man had been dead for approximately two days. While police have not ruled out any theory—including suicide or murder—they are conducting further investigation into the weapon, surrounding circumstances, and interviewing relevant witnesses to determine the true cause of death.
