Ex-Boyfriend Shoots Woman Dead in Temple, Injures New Boyfriend
A woman was shot dead and her new boyfriend injured when her ex-boyfriend opened fire at a temple in Ayutthaya Province on September 7; the suspect later surrendered to police in Saraburi.
On September 7 at 9 p.m., Uthai District Police received a report of a shooting at a temple in Sena Subdistrict, Uthai District, Ayutthaya Province. Officers found a bronze pickup truck at the scene with bullet holes in the hood and driver-side door. Inside, they discovered Aneuk, 44, shot in the temple, dead at the scene. Suphavini, 44, was found outside the vehicle with gunshot wounds to her face and body and was rushed to Uthai Hospital for emergency treatment.
Initial investigation revealed that Suphavini had arrived by company bus from Wang Noi District and got into the pickup truck at the temple. A second pickup truck then blocked the vehicle, and a man with a firearm emerged and shot Suphavini as she was climbing into the truck, causing her to fall. The gunman then turned and shot Aneuk inside the vehicle before fleeing.
Police identified the suspect as Natthawut, nicknamed "X," Suphavini's ex-boyfriend, who had followed her from her workplace to the temple. After shooting both victims, the suspect photographed the scene and sent the images to the woman's family. At 10:17 p.m., Natthawut surrendered at Sao Hai Police Station in Saraburi Province, where authorities began legal proceedings against him.
