Thai Pride Party Confident 2570 Budget Will Pass Parliament

Akkaradej Wongphitaksorn, a Thai Pride Party MP from Ratchaburi, reported that the first day of parliamentary debate on the 2570 fiscal year budget bill proceeded smoothly without protests. Both government and opposition MPs focused their discussions on budget-related agenda items. Committees and ministers answering questions from both sides did so clearly, maintaining an orderly atmosphere, with expectations that the next two days would follow the same pattern.

Although debate time may exceed the set limits, Akkaradej noted that the forum provides a full opportunity for people's representatives to express views and offer recommendations on budget preparation. The government and opposition aim to complete proceedings within their planned timeline and vote by Wednesday evening, September 9, to forward the bill to the Senate.

Akkaradej expressed confidence that the 2570 fiscal year budget bill would pass parliament with unity. The budget draft has already received approval for its principles, and both government and opposition lawmakers worked together continuously in committee review. Once approved, the budget will allow the government to fully deploy taxpayers' money toward national development and addressing public hardships. "Despite some differing views, the overall review proceeded smoothly, the government shows unity, and committee-level budget review went well, so we believe final passage and approval in the third reading will succeed," Akkaradej said.
