IRPC Starts Construction of 98-MW Solar Farm in Songkhla
IRPC has begun construction of the 98‑megawatt NSP‑I solar farm in Songkhla province. The ground‑breaking ceremony was led by IRPC CEO Sirimet Liapakorn on October 15, 2026. The project will contribute to Thailand’s renewable‑energy targets and the PTT Group’s Net‑Zero ambitions.
The NSP‑I solar farm, with a capacity of 98 MWdc, is being developed on more than 716 rai in Na Thap, Chana, Songkhla. It is a joint venture among IRPC, IRPC‑Clean Power (IRPC‑CP), Global Power Synergy (GPSC) and Getz Energy, with IRPC holding a 49 percent stake in IRPC‑CP. The ceremony marked an important milestone after the land was handed over to IRPC‑CP in June 2026, showing progress according to the planned schedule. The project supports IRPC’s strategy to expand renewable‑energy investments and low‑carbon businesses, aligning with the PTT Group’s Net‑Zero goals. Besides boosting clean‑energy capacity, the solar farm aims to use local resources efficiently, enhance regional energy security, and create sustainable economic, social and environmental value for surrounding communities.
