FIFA has confirmed it has launched an investigation into an incident involving popular YouTuber iShowSpeed and a football fan, with concerns that discriminatory language may have been used.
The incident occurred during the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying match between Argentina and Cabo Verde on July 3, when iShowSpeed—the real name of Darren Jason Watkins Jr.—attended the game and livestreamed it to his audience.
During halftime of the match, Watkins' livestream captured him in a heated exchange with an Argentina fan. Watkins asked the woman, "What did you say?" before the two separated.
