Japan, host of the 20th Asian Games, has entered its final month of preparations to welcome over 15,000 athletes competing across the region. Dr. Kongsakd Yodmani, director-general of Thailand's Sports Authority (SAT), confirmed the countdown has begun with robust preparations underway. According to reports on Japan's arrangements, the host will accommodate 4,000–5,000 athletes aboard ships featuring 571 cabins, 7 swimming pools, and 8 restaurants, confident the facilities will not be affected by typhoon season. An additional 2,000 athletes and officials will stay in converted wooden shipping containers at Garden Pier in Nagoya, with the remainder housed in various hotels.
Regarding Thailand's readiness, each sports federation is intensively training its athletes. The SAT, in coordination with the National Sports Development Fund, Thai Olympic Committee, and affiliated sports associations, reports the Thai delegation is fully prepared across all aspects. Dr. Kongsakd stated that athlete and coach allowances have been fully disbursed as of June, with July payments currently being processed. Sports associations that have submitted complete documentation are advancing their payments urgently, while those awaiting additional paperwork are working with officials to distribute allowances to athletes and coaches as quickly as possible.
