Justice Minister Calls for Reports on MP Husband's Scam Links
Justice Minister Ruthiphon Naovarat called on the public to submit any evidence linking the husband of Move Forward Party MP Rangsiman Rome to online scam operations. He said the online gambling company involved is legally registered in Curaçao, placing it outside Thai jurisdiction, but any illegal acts in Thailand will be pursued. The DSI has been asked to review preliminary information, though no formal complaint has been filed yet.
Speaking at Government House on October 6, 2026, Justice Minister Ruthiphon Naovarat said the matter should be split into two issues. First, the asset declaration already submitted to the National Anti‑Corruption Commission (NACC) should be examined, which he supports because vague accusations would not start an investigation. Second, regarding the alleged involvement of the MP’s husband in online scams and gambling, he has asked the DSI to look at preliminary information, but no formal complaint has been filed yet. He invited anyone with evidence to come forward, noting that if the activity falls under Thai law the ministry will act swiftly, while overseas matters will require coordination. He confirmed that the gambling site is legally licensed in Curaçao, South America, outside Thailand’s authority, but any illegal acts committed in Thailand will be pursued. He stressed that the public can report tips or evidence to the DSI or the NACC.
