At Wat Thahnod temple in Ayutthaya's Nakhon Luang district on August 8, 2025, provincial governor Chawanin Wongsathitchirakan presided over the royal water anointment ceremony for "Teacher Muay," or Tiwaporn Wanit, age 42. Royal flower garlands from His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen were placed before the coffin, and the body was received into royal patronage. The ceremony drew Deputy Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Yosachon Wongsawat, the minister of higher education, science, research and innovation; provincial administrative officials; civil servants and teachers from Nonthaburi and Ayutthaya provinces; family members; and many mourners.
The temple atmosphere was filled with sorrow as former and current students of Teacher Muay traveled from Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Pathum Thani provinces to attend the rites and express their grief. Nichcharee Suriyachaimaneekhul, age 26, a former student, said she was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the incident and its impact on both teachers and students. She recalled being Teacher Muay's student from grades 7 through 12 and emphasized the counselor's approachable nature, kindness, and dedication to helping students with educational and personal concerns, particularly regarding scholarships.
"Teacher Muay was someone students could easily approach with any problem, and she would help with all her heart," Nichcharee said. "All the teachers at school do their best because they care about and want to help their students." Sutthadon Srirungsang, age 18, another former student, described how Teacher Muay guided him toward a vocational education path suited to his strengths when he was uncertain about his academic direction. He credited her with providing recommendations for schools, exam preparation strategies, and study materials that led to his successful vocational entrance.
Sutthadon urged current students facing difficulties to consult their teachers. "Teacher Muay helped light the way for my future," he said. "Teachers are always ready to listen and help, especially counselors like her who dedicate themselves to guiding students."
