The King and Queen Perform Merit-Making Ceremonies During the Royal Umbrella Ceremony 2569
His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen performed merit-making ceremonies at the Grand Palace on May 2 during the annual Royal Umbrella Ceremony, honoring past Thai monarchs.
On May 2, 2569 at 5:18 p.m., His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen proceeded to perform merit-making and charitable offerings during the Royal Umbrella Ceremony of 2569 at the Amarindra Vinijchay Hall in the Grand Palace. Princess Sininat Pilaskalyanee attended the ceremony. Members of the royal family, including Princess Sirindhorn and Princess Chulabhorn Walailak, paid their respects to the King.
Upon arrival, His Majesty the King lit incense and candles to make offerings before Buddha images dedicated to the life and remains of past monarchs, including King Chakri the Great, King Rama II, King Rama III, King Rama IV, King Rama V, King Rama VI, King Rama VII, King Rama VIII, King Rama IX, and Queen Rambai Barni.
Her Majesty the Queen then lit incense and candles for the secondary offerings, followed by smaller offerings. Twenty-seven Buddhist monks chanted prayers. His Majesty the King subsequently lit candles and reviewed religious texts, concluding the ceremony.
