King Power Delivers Million Footballs to Inspire Thai Youth Nationwide
King Power employees delivered footballs to underprivileged children in Kanchanaburi as part of a decade-long project distributing one million balls nationwide to inspire youth through sport.
Believing that "opportunity" is the starting point of every dream, the King Power Group stands firm as an organization strong in social responsibility through the "Million Balls Million Powers Building Thai Children's Dreams" project. The project is committed to delivering 1,000,000 footballs to children and youth nationwide to ignite dreams and support the development of youth sports potential.
A crucial cog in achieving this target is "King Power Group employees" in their capacity as the Thai Power Team, who participate in the "Ball Bridge" activity as opportunity deliverers. They personally go into the field to hand out international-standard footballs to youth, because they believe that a good "opportunity" is the first important step of the future. This reflects King Power's vision that building sustainability starts from creating opportunities for employees within the organization to genuinely participate in hands-on work for society. This brings pride, bonding, and the realization that every employee is an important force driving sustainable value for Thai society.
Over the 10-year span of the "Million Balls Million Powers Building Thai Children's Dreams" project, more than 20,000 employees have had the opportunity to join the Ball Bridge activity. They have gone into the field as bridges of opportunity, delivering hundreds of thousands of footballs to Thai youth, including athletes in various dimensions, continuously. Employees can select the schools, communities, or areas where they wish to deliver footballs themselves. One story that clearly reflects the power of the Ball Bridge is the gathering of King Power Group employees from various departments to conduct a social activity at the Baan Dek Foundation School in Wang Dong Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province. This is a regular school receiving underprivileged children from across the country, with approximately 120 youth under its care. It is an area that helps restore mental well-being. The staff joined activities with the children, both playing football and organizing fun recreational activities, hoping that the footballs delivered this time would be more than sports equipment but a small starting point that helps children have space to learn, develop skills, and dare to follow their dreams.
Ms. Rungnapa Rodnum, a King Power Group employee, said that coming here allowed us to see things we had never seen before, to see the innocence and brightness of the children. We had activities to help inflate footballs and went down to play football with them. Seeing the children happy made us feel like they received new opportunities from us. We feel glad to be part of passing on the opportunities the company gave to the children, and we think that for some of them, the football we brought might be the first football they have ever owned to play and practice with.
From the unity of employees to pass opportunities to children in various areas, stories of the "Ball Bridge" continue to unfold in many other dimensions. Especially when employees take the opportunities they received and pass them on to areas they have a personal connection with in their own lives. For example, Ms. Siriporn Thappho, a King Power Group employee, traveled back to her birthplace in Phetchabun Province to deliver footballs to Ban Na Sanun School in Phetchabun, the school she attended as a child, to pass opportunities to the next generation of children. She expressed her impression, saying she has participated in the Ball Bridge activity continuously for the fourth year and intentionally chose to return to Ban Na Sanun School in Phetchabun because this place was her educational institution in childhood, akin to her own home. Returning to deliver footballs to children at the school where she once studied made her feel warm, especially seeing the children's smiles.
