A crocodile over two meters long has been caught after fisheries officials found it submerged in a rice paddy with only its head visible. The animal was first spotted by villagers lying in a banana grove behind a factory in Moo 3, Bang Pho Nuea subdistrict, Sam Khok district, Pathum Thani province, causing alarm among locals and officials. The black-bodied reptile, estimated at two meters, repeatedly opened and closed its mouth but did not move from the spot. Fisheries officers coordinated with the Poh Teck Tung and Ruamkatanyu foundations and volunteers, deploying a flat-bottom boat and foam to track the crocodile in a pond amid the fields. At around 7:50 p.m. on October 28, 2026, they located it submerged in a paddy, encircled the area, and used a noose to secure the two-meter crocodile.
