A 39-year-old man named Arm from Long District, Phrae, died in a house fire after staying as a caretaker for just two days. Firefighters received the emergency call at 1:00 a.m. on September 18, 2025, regarding a fire at a two-story semi-concrete, semi-wooden house owned by Thanuom in Ban Pak Jua Village, Tambon Mae Jua, Den Chai District, Phrae Province. The Den Chai Subdistrict Administration dispatched four fire trucks and rescue teams to battle the intense blaze, which took nearly an hour to bring under control.
When firefighters entered the structure after extinguishing the flames, they discovered Arm's body in a downstairs bedroom with the collapsed upper floor on top of it. Initial investigation suggests he was asleep when the fire started and likely suffocated on smoke before he could escape. Police believe the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit, though forensic investigators from Phrae Provincial Police will conduct a detailed examination to determine the exact cause.
