At 6:30 a.m. on July 7, 2569, under the command of Chiang Rai Province Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Manop Senakul and Deputy Commander Pol. Col. Piphatchn Naradej, with Pol. Col. Passakorn Thawatchiangkul leading the investigation unit, police from Chiang Rai Province worked with officers from Wieng Kaen and Wieng Chiang Rung stations to apprehend Krichakorn (surname withheld), 42, a wanted suspect. After committing the crime, he fled to Wieng Chiang Rung District before being arrested with the firearm used in the attack.
The arrest stemmed from an incident at 9:45 p.m. on July 6. Police at Wieng Kaen Station received a report of gunshot victims with injuries and deaths inside a residential home in Wieng Kaen District, Chiang Rai Province. Upon investigation, they found two injured persons: Sunida (surname withheld), 52, the suspect's wife, and Sirak (surname withheld), 29, her son.
Two people were killed: Supanni (surname withheld), 55, Sunida's sister, and Kriangsak (surname withheld), a family relative. Both died at the scene.
After arrest, the suspect was charged with intentional murder and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition in public areas without authorization or justification. He was transferred to Wieng Kaen Station for legal proceedings, with investigators continuing to determine the cause and motive behind the attack.
