Man Shoots Patrol Officer During Gun Call Response
A man fired a shotgun at police officers responding to gunfire reports in Phetchaburi province on September 13, wounding a patrol sergeant in the leg. The 38-year-old suspect was apprehended at the scene in Thamaei Ruak.
At approximately 8 p.m. on September 13, officers from Thamaei Ruak Police Station responded to reports of gunfire in the Thamaei Ruak Lower housing estate, Soi 2, Moo 8, Thamaei Ruak subdistrict, Thayang district, Phetchaburi province. As officers entered the area to investigate, a 38-year-old resident named Ampon fired a shotgun at the patrol team. The round struck Sergeant Prabhakor Jaichai, a patrol officer, in the left leg, causing injury. The officer was immediately taken to Thayang Hospital for medical treatment and care. Police quickly apprehended the shooter and began legal proceedings.
