Gabriel Fernandez, regional president for Mars Snacking AMEA (Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and Africa), confirmed that Thailand is a strategic manufacturing and export base crucial to expanding the Pringles business across the AMEA region. The company cited Thailand's strong infrastructure, skilled personnel, and ability to connect with various regional markets as key reasons for committing 7 billion baht to establish the facility.
The factory is located in Chachoengsao province within the Eastern Economic Corridor development zone, covering 73,800 square meters. Construction began in October 2023, with operations launching by late 2025. The facility will export Pringles to multiple countries including India, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, with plans to expand to additional markets in the future.
The Thai plant will produce and distribute Pringles to the AMEA region. A second production line recently became operational, enabling the factory to increase capacity to support market expansion beyond current markets. A third production line is scheduled to open by late 2027 to reinforce the plant's role as a regional manufacturing hub for both domestic and international markets.
Beyond the 7 billion baht factory investment, Mars is also investing in workforce development in Thailand, focusing on enhancing manufacturing capabilities and supplier relationships. Nearly 50 percent of the facility's total spending comes from sourcing Thai suppliers. Fernandez stated that sourcing from Thai suppliers reflects Mars' commitment to supporting domestic goods and creating broader economic value for Thailand.
