Massive Fire Engulfs Foam Storage Warehouse
A major fire destroyed a foam storage warehouse in Pathum Thani Province on July 7, with firefighters controlling the blaze within an hour and no injuries reported. The cause remains under investigation but may have involved welding sparks
A major fire erupted at a foam drum storage warehouse near the end of Khlong Sam Soi 10/5 in Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, on July 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Local residents alerted the Khlong Sam Subdistrict disaster prevention office, which dispatched three fire trucks along with Subdistrict Chief Dr. Wirasat Hadda and emergency personnel to the scene.
The fire spread rapidly, with thick black smoke visible from a distance. Firefighters worked intensively and managed to control the blaze within one hour. Inside the warehouse, hundreds of foam drums were destroyed or heavily damaged, accounting for more than half the storage area. Equipment storage rooms, welding equipment, and electrical wiring were completely destroyed. No injuries or deaths were reported.
The warehouse operator, 42-year-old Sarawut, explained that he leased the premises to run a construction contracting business. The foam drums belonged to the property owner and were stored there for safekeeping, not part of his own operations. He was taking a lunch break when he noticed smoke and flames and immediately raised the alarm.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined but is preliminarily suspected to have been sparked by metal shavings or welding sparks that ignited nearby flammable materials.
