On July 7, 2569 at Government House, Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilthapraban responded to questions about welfare system reforms, specifically regarding civil service medical care. He stated, "We will transition to a health insurance system to replace current civil service medical benefits." The shift will enable clearer control of annual healthcare expenditures and boost the domestic insurance industry, supporting the overall economy and establishing Thailand as a medical hub. Better health insurance systems will naturally strengthen healthcare businesses. Discussions are underway with the Comptroller General's Department, the Civil Service Commission, and the State Enterprises Policy Office. Regarding medical benefits for civil servants' family members, Pakorn said the matter remains under consideration as detailed discussions have not yet concluded. The new system will apply to newly recruited civil servants, while existing employees will have the option to participate.
