The Public Affairs Office of the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Defense and the Thai Volunteer Defense Foundation have continued supporting border-guard soldiers by distributing compensation and assistance. On July 13, 2026, Maj. Gen. Thanathip Sawangsaeng, director of the Public Affairs Office, and members of the Thai Volunteer Defense Foundation visited Special Warfare Command headquarters in Lopburi province to meet with Maj. Gen. Adul Chanma, commander of the Special Warfare Command, to discuss support strategies for military personnel executing national security missions.
The foundation distributed 40,000 baht in aid to four families of soldiers killed in border disputes (10,000 baht per family), presented four Hatari Cyclone Max fans, and distributed 500 bread rolls to children of deceased service members attending the event, offering encouragement to grieving families.
Previously, the Public Affairs Office partnered with the Thai Volunteer Defense Foundation and the Ashvin Foundation to donate medical equipment to Phra Mongkut Klao Hospital for treating soldiers wounded in Thailand-Cambodia border clashes. The two foundations together donated two ventilators worth 900,000 baht to enhance the military medical unit's critical care capacity. The foundations also distributed 105,000 baht to 35 injured soldiers (3,000 baht each), compensation of 270,000 baht to 27 families of fallen soldiers (10,000 baht per family), and funded the purchase of 100 power banks (1,500 baht each, totaling 150,000 baht) for the Second Army Region to support border security operations.
Maj. Gen. Thanathip stated that these efforts reflect cooperation between government agencies and civil society in caring for and supporting military personnel and grieving families, while advancing national security. He reaffirmed commitment to integrating collaboration across sectors to strengthen security and improve public quality of life.
