Ministry Submits Local Exam Fraud Case to Anti-Corruption Commission

The Ministry of Interior, represented by Deputy Minister Worasit Liaengprasit, confirmed on August 12 that it is submitting evidence of fraud in local government employee examinations to the National Anti-Corruption Commission without delay. The Central Local Government Employee Examination Committee and the Department of Local Government Promotion have been instructed to hand over all case files so related agencies can investigate and expand the inquiry. The ministry denied any intention to delay or slow the submission of information, stating that documents and evidence are currently being compiled and verified according to proper procedures before transfer to the anti-corruption body.

Worasit stressed that the fraud case is a priority for the ministry because it directly affects public confidence and all test-takers, and the investigation must be guided by accuracy, transparency, and verifiable results. He emphasized that the focus is not on protecting anyone but on revealing the truth—wrongdoers must be punished and honest test-takers must receive justice. The ministry will fully cooperate with all investigating agencies.

Worasit further stated that the approach is not merely addressing symptoms but conducting a comprehensive investigation from beginning to end at every checkable point, using all available evidence to establish a clear picture of the entire process. The investigation must be based on facts and evidence, not rushed for quick answers. The goal is to find the right offender, not just the fastest one, and to ensure innocent people do not suffer from the actions of others. The investigation must also trace the root cause and identify everyone involved, with no one exempt from scrutiny. The Ministry of Interior will expedite its part to ensure all information and evidence reaches investigating authorities to prove the facts and pursue all those connected to the fraud scheme without exception.
