Cement Truck Crashes Into Shelter During Phayao Rainstorm
A cement truck lost control on a wet road near Phayao and crashed into a roadside shelter early August 12, while its trailer overturned and spilled cargo across the highway.
A 10-wheel Hino truck transporting cement from Lampang to Chiang Rai lost control on a wet road near Ban San Muen Kaew in Mae Puem subdistrict, Mueang district, Phayao, at 00:50 on 12 August. The truck cab crashed into a roadside shelter, causing severe damage, while the trailer overturned into a ditch and scattered numerous cement bags across the road. Rescue teams from Mae Puem Municipality and the Khun Puem rescue unit worked through continuing rain to clear the cargo and reopen the route, with the driver attributing the accident to loss of control due to wet road conditions.
