Prime Minister Anuthit Charnvirakul and Minister of Interior presided over an alms-giving ceremony for 193 monks at Sanam Luang on August 12, 2567, beginning at 7:00 a.m., to mark the birthday anniversary of the late Queen Sirikit and National Mother's Day. The event was attended by cabinet members and their spouses, parliamentary leaders, senior judges, constitutional officials, military commanders, police leadership, and private-sector representatives.
When the Prime Minister arrived at the ceremony grounds, ten senior and junior members of the royal sangha took their seats as the PM lit incense and candles before the Triple Gem and a portrait of the late Queen Sirikit. Monks then chanted Buddhist scriptures and conferred the precepts on the royal sangha members. The PM and his wife, along with senior government and constitutional officials, then presented robes and requisites to the ten monks before pouring lustral water and paying respects at the Queen's portrait.
The ceremony concluded with the Prime Minister and attendees making merit through alms-giving to all 193 participating monks.
