On September 17, at the Department of Local Administration, Worasit Lianprasoet, Deputy Minister of Interior, chaired a meeting of the Central Committee for Local Government Personnel Management, with relevant agencies participating.
Worasit revealed before the meeting that today's agenda concerns reinstating officials to their positions after removal, with discussions on the timeline. He confirmed efforts to expedite the process by October, expecting today to finalize the recall date, which may involve minor adjustments and possible documentation errors.
Regarding the ranking of applicant lists, Worasit explained that normally the fourth round of appointments would be called, but after three rounds of appointments and reports of cheating, the committee transferred all three rounds before proceeding to the fourth round. Today's meeting will review the overall approach and expedite fourth-round appointments by October.
When asked whether dismissed officials have filed lawsuits, Worasit said initially none have been reported.
Regarding the process of recovering salaries and benefits, Worasit stated it is awaiting legal advice from relevant agencies, with salary recovery requiring data from the National Anti-Corruption Commission. He confirmed the goal of salary recovery is already set, but cannot provide a specific timeline as it depends on gathering information from multiple sources.
