Myanmar Man Dies After Motorbike Mirror Pierces Chest in Accident
A 29-year-old Myanmar man died after his motorcycle's rear-view mirror rod pierced his chest in a crash on the Tha Chin River bridge in Samut Sakhon. Police say he lost control, hit a barrier, and the mirror rod struck him, with no signs of foul play. His body was taken to Samut Sakhon Hospital for autopsy.
A 29-year-old man lost control while riding his motorcycle, causing the bike to crash and the rear-view mirror rod to pierce his chest, killing him on the Tha Chin River bridge in Samut Sakhon. Police were alerted at 09:30 on 8 October 2025, and officers from Samut Sakhon City Police, including Deputy Inspector Nattha Phukan, Deputy Police Colonel Sukhum Phoethaisong, investigative units, hospital staff, forensic officers, and a local rescue foundation responded. At the scene, they found the man, identified as a Myanmar national, lying face-up on the right side of the road with a pool of blood around him. His Honda Wave motorcycle, registered in Samut Sakhon, lay overturned nearby. The mirror’s glass had been removed, but blood was seen on nearly half of the rod. Forensic and investigative police found no bullet casings, gunshot residue, or signs of shooting or physical assault. Police believe the rider lost control, skidded into a roadside barrier, and the mirror rod struck his left chest, causing fatal injuries. The body was sent to Samut Sakhon Hospital for autopsy before being released to relatives.
