Teen Motorcyclist Killed in Rama 2 Collision With Parked Car
An 18-year-old motorcyclist died after his Honda PCX crashed into a broken-down Mitsubishi Mirage parked on the shoulder of Rama 2 Road in Samut Songkhram province. The rider's 22-year-old Myanmar passenger was injured and taken to hospital. Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.
On October 23, 2026, Pol. Lt. Col. Nontawat Chancham, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Yisat Police Station in Samut Songkhram, received a report of a motorcycle rear-ending a sedan with fatalities and injuries on the outbound main lane of Rama 2 Road at km 75+900 in Pak Nam Daeng, Amphawa district. Police and rescuers from the Sawang Benjarattham Foundation responded.
At the scene on the left shoulder, they found a white Mitsubishi Mirage with Samut Sakhon plates, its rear crushed, rear windshield shattered, and rear bumper damaged. Nearby lay a brown Honda PCX 150 with Samut Sakhon plates, heavily damaged, with debris scattered across the road.
The body of Mr. Ekachai (surname withheld), 18, the motorcycle driver, was found dead at the scene. His passenger, a 22-year-old Myanmar woman, was injured and rushed to Somdet Phra Phutthaloetla Hospital by rescuers.
Preliminary investigation revealed the sedan driver, Mr. Hom, 37, a Myanmar national, was traveling from Samut Sakhon toward Wang Manao. When his vehicle made an unusual noise, he pulled onto the left shoulder, got out to inspect, then returned to sit inside. Shortly after, Ekachai rode the PCX onto the shoulder and slammed into the rear of the parked car, killing him instantly and injuring the passenger.
Police will gather evidence and re-interview those involved to determine the exact cause before proceeding with legal action.
