Mystery Death: Man Found in Roadside Grass with Head Wounds
An unidentified man with Burmese tattoos was found dead alongside a Chon Buri road with head injuries and scattered headlight fragments, with police investigating whether a hit-and-run was responsible.
On September 19, officers from Phan Thong Police Station and rescue workers responded to a report from residents of an unresponsive man lying in overgrown grass beside the Phan Thong-Ban Kao road near the Charoen Sindhani bend in Phan Thong District, Chon Buri Province. Upon arrival, they found an unknown male dead at the scene. Initial examination revealed Burmese script tattoos on his arm, multiple bruises and abrasions on the body, and a fractured skull. Officers also discovered scattered clear plastic fragments resembling automotive headlight components near the body, which they preserved as evidence. Rescue workers stated they were initially called to assist an injured man lying motionless by the roadside, but upon arrival found him without breath or pulse. Police have not yet determined whether the death resulted from a hit-and-run collision or other causes. They documented the scene, collected evidence, and plan to review CCTV footage and related information to establish the facts. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, and investigators are working to identify the victim and locate his family.
