Neighbour Shoots Ex-Wife's Relative Four Times in Ayutthaya
Police in Ayutthaya have arrested a neighbour who fatally shot his ex‑wife’s relative four times after accusing him of spreading rumours about his womanising. The suspect fled on a motorcycle but returned home after running out of cash and fuel, leading to his capture. He has apologised to the victim’s family and admitted he acted rashly while police hunt for the homemade .38 pistol he allegedly discarded in the Chao Phraya River.
Police arrested 53‑year‑old Wiwat after he shot 49‑year‑old Paisal, a relative of his ex‑wife, four times in the Luang Pho Suriyamunee community in Phai Ling sub‑district, Ayutthaya. Wiwat said he was angry because Paisal repeatedly told his former wife about his alleged womanising behaviour. After hearing Paisal shouting from a bathroom, Wiwat confronted him, fired the gun and fled on a motorcycle. He rode to a friend near Wat Chaiyathammaram, then headed toward Asia Road before turning back home because he had no money, his fuel was low, and he had nowhere else to go. Officers apprehended him at his residence. Wiwat apologized to the victim’s family and admitted he acted rashly. The weapon used was a homemade .38 pistol, which Wiwat claims he threw into the Chao Phraya River; police are still searching for it. Authorities say the motive appears to be a personal dispute and the investigation continues.
