The highly anticipated martial arts showdown returns with ONE Samurai 4 set to explode at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena. The event will be broadcast live to viewers in 195 countries on Saturday, October 17, 2069, starting at 1:30 PM Thailand time. A press conference held on Tuesday, October 13 at the Marunouchi Building Hall featured top athletes answering questions from global media, previewing a card that includes 12 bouts, two ONE World Championship belts on the line, the ONE Samurai Tournament featherweight kickboxing semifinals, and the appearances of Thai fan favorites Nabil Anan and Sinsomtron Klimi.
ONE founder and CEO Chatri Sithipol said he is thrilled to bring the premier event back to Ariake Arena, highlighting the main and co‑main events while noting every match on the card is stacked with elite talent. He praised British kickboxing champion Jonathan Haggerty as a pound‑for‑pound king who can fight under any rule, but warned that his opponent, former ONE Bantamweight kickboxing champion Hiroki Akimoto, is a dangerous former karate world champion aiming to reclaim the belt.
Regarding the atomweight Muay Thai title, Chatri noted that superstar Tadataka has won 42 straight fights over seven years without a loss, yet his Malaysian challenger, Reidyn Masdor, possesses a deadly knockout punch that makes the bout unpredictable.
In the headline bout, Jonathan Haggerty expressed gratitude for the chance to fight in Japan again, saying he has trained intensely and is confident he will finish the fight with a knockout, keeping his belt. Hiroki Akimoto vowed to defend his home‑court pride, stating he will not only avoid being knocked out but will aim to knock out Haggerty and take the belt back.
Meanwhile, Tadataka said he looks forward to returning to familiar Muay Thai rules, enjoying his training and feeling confident he will deliver a stronger performance than before.
