On October 14, 2069, Sikhiu Pohamtham rescue volunteers received a report of a road accident in front of the Hok Ki shop on Chumkha Road, Sikhiu subdistrict, Sikhiu district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, and rushed to the scene to assist the injured. They found a 43‑year‑old male with a laceration to the head, pain in his right arm, and other bodily injuries, though he remained conscious. Initial first aid was given. The driver of the ten‑wheel crane truck, registered in Nakhon Ratchasima, said he had been driving out of Sikhiu town when, upon reaching the accident spot, the crane’s outrigger or support leg suddenly detached while the truck was still moving forward. The detached outrigger hooked a parked sidecar motorcycle and dragged both the bike and its rider for about 30 metres. The injured man said he had been riding the motorcycle with his son to buy goods, sitting on the sidecar while his son went into the shop, when the truck struck and pulled him away. Rescue personnel provided further assistance and began standard procedures. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation, with police reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing those involved to determine any legal responsibility.
