Two Siblings Killed in Chonburi Lane-Crossing Crash
Two siblings were killed when their pickup was struck by a vehicle that crossed into their lane at a U-turn in Chonburi on October 10. Four days later, the other driver has not contacted the family, who fear the case may not be handled fairly due to possible local influence. Relatives are urging anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the scene to come forward to help clarify what happened.
Relatives Nattawut, 41, and Nantikan, 25, were traveling from Chonburi to their hometown in Surin Province to observe the ancestral merit-making tradition when their white Isuzu D-Max four-door pickup, license plate from Chonburi, was struck by another white Isuzu D-Max that crossed into their lane at a U-turn near Ban Choet village. The impact caused severe damage and killed both occupants. The other driver, identified as 30‑year‑old Nakarin, was also injured and taken to hospital. After the crash, the bodies of Nattawut and Nantikan were returned to Surin Province, where they were laid out at Wat Ban Pa in Ban Nong Phak Bung, Taela subdistrict, Sikhoraphum district, before a joint cremation on October 14. The family says that, despite the passage of four days, the other driver’s side has not reached out to discuss responsibility or offer condolences. They also note that their own vehicle remains impounded while the other driver’s pickup has already been released from the Phanat Nikhom police station, raising questions about unequal treatment. Relatives worry that alleged connections of the other driver’s family to local influential figures could impede a thorough investigation. They are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the Ban Choet U-turn area on the morning of October 10 to come forward and share the material with police or the family to help establish the facts.
