Police Arrest Suspect in Lottery Stall Theft, Phitsanulok
Police in Phitsanulok arrested a 44‑year‑old man after he stole a lottery vendor’s entire stall of 110 government tickets worth tens of thousands of baht. The suspect was caught shortly after the crime, confessed to selling twelve tickets to villagers while fleeing on a motorcycle, and the remaining tickets and bike were recovered. He now faces theft charges.
On October 14, 2026, a 68-year-old lottery ticket seller from Tambon Nai Mueang, Mueang District, Phitsanulok, reported to Police Lieutenant Amnop Aonpan of Mueang Phitsanulok Police Station that her lottery stall, which she normally sets up in front of her house on Chaiyanurit Road, had vanished completely when she returned at 07:20 after setting it up at 06:30. The stall contained about 100 tickets in sets of two plus ten single tickets, valued at tens of thousands of baht.
A acquaintance later returned an empty stall found discarded in Soi 10 Chaiyanurit Road, confirming theft. Police reviewed CCTV and saw a suspect on a white‑yellow motorcycle parking about 50 meters from the stall, pretending to buy something at a nearby shop before grabbing the whole stall and fleeing down Soi 10. Investigation identified the suspect as a 44‑year‑old man from Tambon Aranyik, Mueang District, with a prior drug conviction. Police arrested him at his home in Aranyik, recovered the remaining lottery tickets and the motorcycle used in the offence. The suspect confessed, saying he stole the tickets to resell them for cash; he had already sold twelve tickets to villagers while en route. Police charged him with theft and forwarded the case to the investigators for prosecution.
