The Board of Investment has approved Nestlé (Thailand) Limited's request for investment promotion to construct a new coffee manufacturing facility. The factory will produce all types of Nescafé coffee products, including instant coffee, 3-in-1 coffee mix, and canned coffee, with a combined production capacity exceeding 170,000 tons per year to support market growth domestically and regionally. The project includes a large distribution center and has a total investment value of approximately 23 billion baht, located in the Ayutthaya Industrial Estate in Samut Prakan Province, with production expected to begin in late 2028.

This investment expansion resulted from discussions between Deputy Prime Minister Ekniti and BOI Secretary-General Narutte Thadsalee with Nestlé's CEO responsible for Asia-Pacific, Oceania, and Africa operations during the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year. The new factory will employ state-of-the-art production technology, automation systems, and AI, creating approximately 520 positions for Thai workers, particularly in engineering, technology, and specialized skilled roles.

The facility will source substantial raw materials from within Thailand, including coffee beans, sugar, and raw milk, valued at over 4.3 billion baht annually, supporting sustainable income for Thai farmers and elevating Thailand's agricultural and food industry. The project will employ over 3,000 Thai personnel and strengthen connections with local communities and domestic supply chains. This investment demonstrates the confidence of a global-level company in Thailand's potential as a regional food and beverage production hub.

Nikil Chahn, Chairman and CEO of Nestlé Indochina, stated that Thailand has been an important market for Nestlé for over 130 years. The investment reflects Nestlé's confidence in Thailand and reaffirms the company's commitment to benefiting Thai society, the economy, communities, and the environment.

The investment project consists of an advanced coffee manufacturing facility and a distribution center supporting multiple Nestlé product categories. It will be equipped with the latest technology and AI to produce high-quality goods and improve operational efficiency for consumer and customer benefit. The new factory will produce Nescafé products using substantial locally-sourced raw materials and supplies, including coffee beans, sugar, and raw milk from Thai farmers, supporting the agricultural sector and economic development.

FIFA Denies France's Appeal Over Olise Yellow Card

FIFA upheld a yellow card for France's Michael Olise despite minimal contact in the World Cup Round of 16, leaving him one suspension away from missing a potential semifinal.

FIFA Denies France's Appeal Over Olise Yellow Card
9 Jul Khaosod

French coach Didier Deschamps revealed that FIFA has rejected France's appeal against the yellow card issued to Michael Olise, though he expressed confidence in the referee's decision.

Olise, one of the tournament's standout players, received the yellow card in the final minutes of France's 1-0 victory over Paraguay in the 2026 World Cup Round of 16.

Replay footage showed minimal contact when Olise touched a Paraguayan player's mouth with his finger, while the opponent fell to the ground claiming a facial strike.

With FIFA upholding the card, Olise now faces a precarious situation—a second yellow against Morocco would result in a suspension for the potential semifinal against Spain or Belgium.

"The yellow card remains as is. We were notified by FIFA this morning, and the card stands," Deschamps told reporters.

Deschamps also addressed the all-Argentine refereeing team assigned to the France-Morocco match, saying "I have no control over referee appointments—I can only try to trust the officials."

"Various decisions often spark debate depending on which side you're on, but our opponent is Morocco. I cannot view the referee as an adversary," he added.

SEC Charges Woman Over False Share Trading Reports
9 Jul Khaosod

The Securities and Exchange Commission held an urgent press conference on July 9 to announce findings against Suphaporn Phimphongse, who filed seven share trading reports covering six securities with the SEC. SEC Secretary-General Pronngong Bussratakul explained that the reports, initially filed on June 30 and July 2, 2025, showed transactions dating back to 2021. When the SEC identified irregularities, it flagged the data as "preliminary information" on July 3, then escalated the status to "under accuracy verification" on July 7.

The SEC identified several critical inaccuracies: the reporter was not listed as a shareholder on the record closure dates despite reported acquisitions; reported securities did not actually exist during the specified periods; and reported share numbers did not reflect actual transactions, such as warrant exercise amounts that matched another person's convertible bond exercises.

Additionally, the SEC found that Suphaporn filed Form 59 reports (requiring insider status) despite having no legitimate obligation to do so under securities regulations. The SEC removed all associated data from its public disclosure system. SEC officials stressed that the system maintains rigorous identity verification procedures, requiring registration matching government population database records and OTP confirmation via registered phone numbers. "The SEC remains confident in its filing systems," said Deputy Secretary-General Sucha Bunyapanet, noting that the Form 246-2 reporting system remains fully operational despite circulating rumors of closure.

Thanya Clarifies Apology Over Comments, Says Real Issue Occurred Last Year

Thanya Clarifies Apology Over Comments, Says Real Issue Occurred Last Year
9 Jul Khaosod

Thanya has finally spoken out, her voice trembling as she clarified her apology regarding a comment she made, but insisted the actual incident occurred a year ago. She explained what led to Pek's status change and pleaded for the matter to end, stating she never wanted ongoing conflict between them. The controversy intensified when her sister Myrra, frustrated by the endless discussion, posted heated comments about Thanya's issues with Pek and Ning, despite Thanya remaining silent. Myrra revealed that the real events happened a year prior and questioned why the other party's apology to Thanya hadn't been mentioned.

Thanya Clarifies Her Apology Comment—But the Real Issue Happened Last Year

During a recent live stream with On Sripan, Thanya addressed Myrra's posts about last year's events, saying: "Since this wasn't resolved, my sister probably wanted to explain on my behalf because she was frustrated that I wasn't speaking up." She admitted the confusion: "People now think I apologized because I misunderstood something, which is silly. When we don't know all the facts or get confirmation, there's nothing we can do about it."

"Years have passed, everyone knows the situation. From what Myrra explained, my sister knows everything. Close friends knew too, but it came out differently," Thanya continued. "When the situation happened, I felt bad. The news spread and I wanted it to stay quiet, but when it didn't, everyone waited for me to speak. But if I speak, the drama never ends. That's just how it is."

Thanya revealed her strategic silence: "I felt Pek's statement was already the best response. I couldn't ask him to say yes or no because either way, it would backfire. Both sides would suffer. It's best to leave it ambiguous and let it end. This way, I'm not lying to anyone. The more I talk, the more damage it causes, so I preferred silence."

"Today I'm clarifying the apology—yes, I apologize for creating the recent news coverage, but last year's events have their own story," she explained. "October 31st was Pek's birthday. According to Myrra, they already cleared things up and apologized. November 1st, after I resolved things with Pek, I couldn't hold back anymore and went live to announce the status change. Everyone saw the atmosphere of that live stream."

"My frustration from that live stream—I was upset and angry, and I could only take it out on Pek, the only person I would do that to. She made me the one who brought up these issues."

Thanya insisted she won't make claims without evidence: "I'm actually a very calm person. I don't easily lash out at people, but I often target Pek because she likes creating problems that stress me out. But it should have ended. Pek said what she said and it should have been over. I didn't want to speak because speaking only prolongs it."
