Securities Officials Question Insider Trading Suspect
Securities regulators and Thai police jointly questioned a woman suspected of filing inaccurate stock transaction reports in early July, with authorities removing the erroneous data from public disclosure systems.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Royal Thai Police's Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECD) jointly questioned Supapon Pimpongsa on July 10, 2025, regarding seven securities transaction reports she filed. The reports, covering six securities, were submitted on June 30 and July 2, 2025, but the SEC discovered significant data inaccuracies and removed them from public circulation.
The SEC verified the discrepancies with the involved listed companies and has removed the incorrect information from its disclosure system. The SEC and ECD have maintained ongoing cooperation to accelerate law enforcement procedures. Both agencies successfully obtained Pimpongsa's statement and cooperation during the July 10 questioning.
SEC Secretary-General Pronpong Boonsakuntraguhi emphasized that the SEC takes such matters seriously and praised the ECD's support in expediting the enforcement process. Due to the ongoing investigation, detailed information cannot yet be disclosed, though the SEC will provide updates as progress is made.
PolBrig Vinyu Chamchai, Commander of ECD's Division 3, confirmed that the ECD cooperated fully with the SEC in questioning Pimpongsa and obtaining her statements. The ECD stands ready to provide continued support and coordination with the SEC to ensure swift and effective law enforcement.
