When to See a Physical Therapist: Five Key Warning Signs

Persistent neck, shoulder, back pain, numbness, limited movement, or recurring sports injuries warrant a visit to a physical therapist to address root causes rather than relying on painkillers alone.

When to See a Physical Therapist: Five Key Warning Signs
31 Jul Khaosod

Body aches and pain are not limited to the elderly but occur frequently among working-age people, office employees, students, athletes, and anyone who uses their body continuously in daily life. Many choose to ignore symptoms or rely on painkillers regularly, allowing conditions to become chronic and negatively affecting long-term quality of life.

Physical therapy clinics have become an important option for those seeking proper care of muscles, joints, and movement systems.

Five signs indicating the need for physical therapy:

Regular neck, shoulder, and back pain: If you sit at a computer for long hours and develop increasing neck, shoulder, or back pain, it may signal office syndrome affecting your muscles and joints.

Numbness or radiating pain in the arms and legs: Numbness in the arms, hands, fingers, or radiating leg pain may result from nerve compression. Left untreated, this can affect mobility and daily functioning. Physical therapists can assess severity and design rehabilitation programs to reduce compression.

Limited range of motion: If you cannot fully raise your arms, have limited neck rotation, difficulty bending, or feel tightness in joints and muscles, it may result from inflammation or movement system abnormalities requiring correction.

Sports injuries or accidents that don't heal: Whether ankle sprains, tendinitis, or muscle injuries, if left to become chronic with persistent pain, physical therapy helps tissue recovery and reduces reinjury risk.

Regular pain medication use with recurring symptoms: If you frequently take pain relievers or muscle relaxants but pain returns, you may be addressing symptoms rather than causes. Physical therapy identifies and treats underlying problems, breaking the medication cycle.

Our physical therapy clinic focuses on treating root causes, not just temporary pain relief. Therapists conduct detailed body assessments, analyze symptom causes, and create individualized treatment plans so clients can confidently return to daily activities.

Whether you have office syndrome, neck, shoulder, or back pain, herniated discs, nerve compression numbness, or sports injuries, our expert team provides comprehensive care at every stage.

Since good movement is the foundation of better quality of life, our clinic emphasizes targeted treatment combined with future problem prevention, enabling you to work, exercise, and live at full capacity.

Don't let minor pain become chronic issues affecting your life. If you notice abnormal signs—persistent aches, movement difficulties, or injuries that won't heal—consulting a specialist is the first step toward proper and sustainable health recovery.

Phichit underwear thief stole lingerie to sniff for sexual gratificationLegacyAn underwear thief was arrested on July 28 in Phichit after admitting he stole women’s underwear from clotheslines across Sak Lek district to sniff them for sexual gratification. The investigation began after the administrator of Sak Lek Police Station’s Facebook page spotted a social media post from a woman who said more than 20 bras and pairs of underwear had disappeared from her clothesline. Police soon discovered numerous women, from younger girls to older residents, had repeatedly had underwear stolen from clotheslines outside their homes. Officers then tracked down the suspect, identified only as 49 year old Banjong, and stopped him on a highway between Sak Lek and Wang Sai Phun while he was riding a motorcycle. Photo via Siamrath Banjong admitted to stealing women’s underwear from clotheslines outside of homes when no one was around. He said he took the items home to sniff them before masturbating. Afterwards, he hid the underwear in fertiliser sacks as a collection before going out to steal from new victims. He added that he had been committing the thefts for several years. A search of his room uncovered large quantities of women’s underwear, bras, skirts and sarongs in various colours and sizes hidden inside several fertiliser sacks. After the arrest, more victims came forward to report similar thefts. Police later took Banjong to homes in Ban Dong Yen village to point out the locations where he had carried out the thefts. ONE31 reported that villagers said the thefts had been happening for some time, but many women were too embarrassed to report them because the stolen items were of relatively low value. Photo via Siamrath Police initially charged him with theft in a dwelling at night using a vehicle to commit or escape the offence, trespassing at night, and using a Category 1 narcotic (methamphetamine). Officers also seized the stolen clothing and the motorcycle used in the thefts. In similar news, a woman was left fearing for her safety after a man grabbed her underwear hung outside her rented room in Chon Buri and sniffed it right in front of her. Two Russian siblings missing since July 26 with a motorcycle remain unfound after five days of searching by over 100 rescue volunteers in Pattaya, as two suspects flee toward the Thai-Cambodian border.

Russian Siblings Missing Five Days; Suspects Spotted Fleeing Border
31 Jul Khaosod

Five days have passed with no sign of missing Russian siblings who disappeared with a Honda ADV 150 motorcycle early on July 26. Rescue officials at Suwangborirom Dharma Temple in Pattaya established a command center to receive public tips and mobilized over 100 rescue volunteers in the ongoing search, while two suspects remain uncaptured.

At 9:00 a.m. on July 31, rescue authorities opened a command center for assistance and tracking. Over 100 volunteer rescuers stood ready to deploy immediately upon receiving new information. Operation Chief Suthipong Boonmachai revealed the search had entered day three. Despite the lack of clear leads pinpointing the missing persons' location, all units continue searching suspected areas including wells, smoke clusters, and incompletely surveyed zones. A field kitchen was established to provide meals for all rescue personnel from government, police, media, and volunteer organizations.

Throughout the three days, Boonmachai noted that citizens have continuously reported tips. While no evidence has directly led to finding the missing persons, the information has provided clearer understanding of the suspects' behavior and enabled efficient targeting of search areas. Police urged the public to report any sightings of suspects or their vehicle, or any useful information to the command center near Chakang Cemetery.

Regarding the suspect manhunt, unconfirmed reports of Pong and Thang's capture were denied by officials. On July 30 at 1:08 p.m., officers detected suspect activity in Mueang District, Chanthabury, before they headed toward Sa Kaew Province. At approximately 1:00 a.m. on July 31 at Khao Lam checkpoint in Soi Dao District, Chanthaburi, while police and military manned a control point, a motorcycle arrived. The driver wore a helmet resembling a police helmet while the passenger wore a black shirt. They accelerated through the checkpoint and escaped before officers could intercept them.

Initial confirmation identified the two as Pong and Thang, the wanted suspects. A white plastic bag visible in CCTV footage, which they were carrying, allegedly contained police uniform-like clothing for their escape. This matter remains under investigation and further fact-checking.

Police in Huai Yod District reported responding to a fatal shooting on the evening of July 30 at a residence in Huai Yod, Trang Province. Officers found the body of a 49-year-old man, identified as Mr. A (alias), lying beside the house wearing a white t-shirt and blue shorts. A 9mm pistol was found between his legs. An autopsy revealed a gunshot wound to the right temple with the bullet passing through the left side of the skull. The weapon still contained seven rounds—one in the chamber and six in the magazine.

Mrs. B (alias), the victim's mother-in-law and assistant village headmaster, explained that the victim lived with his wife in one house adjacent to hers. The couple ran an online cosmetics business with their own brand. According to her account, the incident likely stemmed from a back-tax demand issued by the Revenue Department, with a scheduled appointment at the Trang Tax Office on August 6. The exact amount owed remains unknown, though it is estimated to be in the millions of baht. The couple had been selling online for over 10 years and paid taxes regularly until about two years ago, when they expanded their sales channels through TikTok Live and Shopee, triggering the back-tax claim for two years. The daughter had prepared approximately three million baht and documents for the scheduled meeting.

On the day of the incident, the victim delivered fruit to his family before returning home with a visibly tense expression. Despite attempts to comfort him, he retrieved his own pistol from a bag in his house and walked toward the back. Moments later, a single gunshot rang out. The mother-in-law expressed deep sorrow, describing the victim as a good-natured, hardworking, and well-liked member of the community, and believed the stress from the unexpected tax demand had driven him to this tragic act.

Rueangdej Sirikij, director of the Testing Center for Education and Psychology at Srinakharinwirot University, surrendered to the Central Investigation Police Bureau (CIB) on July 31 to face interrogation as one of 13 suspects in a local civil service exam cheating case. According to investigators' reports, Dr. Aswin Chotipanang, an advisor at Kasetsart University, allegedly coordinated efforts to have Rueangdej obtain exam papers and answer files for local civil service candidates, which were then taken to a residence in Nonthaburi province to be altered. Rueangdej reportedly entered through the back of the CIB building to avoid media attention.

Police say they used evidence gathered during Rueangdej's previous interviews combined with other evidence from the charges. The interrogation is ongoing, and he is expected to be released without bail as he appeared voluntarily. Rueangdej faces seven charges: dereliction of duty, forgery of government documents, falsifying documents as a government officer, conspiracy to cause loss or damage to another person's documents, conspiracy to forge government documents, conspiracy to open sealed documents without authority, and conspiracy to enter false data into a computer system.

Three to four other suspects from the Nonthaburi residence appeared for interrogation the same day, while several others requested postponement. All face charges including fraud, violations of Section 188, and breaches of the Computer Crime Act.

With the 2025 monsoon season officially starting May 15, Bangkok is marshaling comprehensive flood preparedness measures. The city has cleared 3,739 of 3,815 kilometers of drainage pipes (98.1% of annual plan) and dredged over 82% of major canals, opening water flow routes to 99% completion. Bangkok has installed pumping equipment at all 560 locations citywide, distributed mobile water-pumping units to all 50 districts by July 2025, and deployed 12 rapid-response mobile pumping units for emergencies.

Monitoring systems include two C-Band weather radars, 130 rainfall gauges, 248 road-flooding sensors, 310 water-level stations on canals and the Chao Phraya River, 55 flow-rate measurement stations, and 270 pump-control stations. All data feeds into the Bangkok Flood Prevention Center for 24-hour real-time analysis and decision support.

Preparedness includes continuous monitoring of rainfall and water levels, pre-draining canals to create temporary capacity, inspecting gates and pumping stations, installing temporary pumps at high-risk zones, clearing debris and aquatic plants, accelerating drainage after rainfall, and operating the Nong Bon drainage tunnel at full capacity in 2025. Long-term projects include extending the Nong Bon tunnel to cover six districts spanning 152.90 square kilometers.

Thailand Rushes to Repeal Over 100 Laws to Boost Business

Thailand Rushes to Repeal Over 100 Laws to Boost Business
31 Jul Khaosod

Deputy Prime Minister Pokkrong Nileprapen disclosed on July 31 that the government is accelerating efforts to repeal over 100 laws proposed by the private sector to lower business costs and strengthen the nation's competitive capacity, emphasizing tourism and industry. The government is collaborating with three private sector institutions through a public-private partnership committee to examine laws that obstruct business operations. Most proposals come from the Chamber of Commerce and the Industrial Council, which must be grouped and prioritized by their impact on the economy and competitiveness.

Pokkrong stated the approach will avoid lengthy master plans and instead seek clear input from the private sector on specific legal problems and necessary amendments. Once draft revisions are clarified, stakeholder consultations will follow immediately, and approved principles will be submitted to the Cabinet for implementation by respective government agencies. The government will prioritize laws affecting sectors outlined in the "Leading Thailand" strategy, particularly tourism and industry, where high business costs hinder international competition.

Pokkrong noted the team has already held preliminary consultations with the private sector to identify practical and impactful proposals, with a tracking system established for continuous progress monitoring. However, he acknowledged that legal reform alone is insufficient; structural costs—especially high energy prices affecting all businesses—must also be addressed concurrently. Originally estimated to take two months, the process has advanced significantly, with clearer outcomes expected within 1-2 months, as the government must move quickly to deliver tangible change.

Thailand Links Traffic Fines to Vehicle Tax Registration

Starting August 1, drivers with unpaid traffic fines will be blocked from renewing vehicle tax stickers under Thailand's new road safety enforcement system linking citations to vehicle registration.

Thailand Links Traffic Fines to Vehicle Tax Registration
31 Jul Khaosod

Starting August 1, drivers with unpaid traffic citations will be unable to renew their vehicle tax registration or receive valid tax stickers until all fines are settled. Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploaitale Laksameesangchan announced that the government is advancing road safety measures under the 2022-2027 Road Safety Master Plan, which aims to reduce traffic deaths to 12 per 100,000 people in line with UN guidelines. The National Police Office and the Department of Land Transport have signed an agreement to implement a new traffic citation system aligned with administrative court rulings to improve law enforcement efficiency.

The upgraded system will give the public clearer access to their citation details, including copies of the citation, warning letters, postal receipts, and officer information before payment. Starting August 1, after a citation is issued, officials will send formal warning notices. If unpaid within the specified period, the citation data will be linked to the Department of Land Transport. The entire process is expected to take approximately 60-90 days from the citation date. Citizens who discover unpaid traffic citations can check details and pay fines through the transport registry immediately. However, those with outstanding citations can pay annual vehicle tax but will not receive an official tax sticker until all fines are fully paid.

Man Steals Truck, Crashes Into Two Vehicles in Chumphon
31 Jul Khaosod

A man with impaired mental faculties allegedly stole an unattended pallet truck and drove it more than 40 kilometres before crashing into two other trailer trucks on Thursday afternoon on Asian Highway 41 in Chumphon's Lamae district. The collision occurred at around 13:50 near kilometre marker 92/600 in Suan Taeng subdistrict, causing severe damage to all three vehicles with their cabs torn apart and scattered across the road. All three drivers—32-year-old Kiattisak Yangmee, 55-year-old Boonchuay Isarapap, and 27-year-old Nattanon Daengkanit—were injured and rushed to Lamae Hospital with rib and body injuries.

Police determined that Nattanon allegedly spotted the pallet truck parked unattended in Surat Thani with its key in the ignition while the driver was eating. He then drove the vehicle north at high speed for over 40 kilometres until losing control in Lamae district and colliding with the two trailer trucks. A preliminary urine test found no drugs in Nattanon's system, though police have requested further blood testing to check his blood alcohol level. Police will question him once his injuries improve and determine appropriate charges for vehicle theft and the crash.

Poll: 31.7% Want Higher Welfare Card Limits
31 Jul Khaosod

The Pracharacha Pol (KPI Poll) released survey results on July 31 showing that most Thais want the state welfare card program to continue, with 31.7% proposing increased spending limits to match living costs. The survey, conducted July 25-28 among 2,000 respondents nationwide aged 18 and above, found that 24.4% consider the vehicle ownership restriction the most problematic eligibility criterion, while 15.0% cite the annual income cap of 100,000 baht. However, 14.6% believe the overall criteria are clear and appropriate. More than half of respondents (53.1%) disagree with the reduced number of eligible recipients, fearing worthy individuals lose benefits, though 40.6% support it for better budget targeting. Regional opinions differ sharply—Bangkok residents approve the screening at 72.3%, while the Northeast disapproves at 68.7%. When asked about improvements, 27.7% want clearer explanations for rejections, and 25.1% want government agencies to coordinate data-sharing rather than placing the burden on applicants. Looking ahead, 31.7% propose increasing assistance to match living costs, while 29.1% want more precise eligibility criteria and improved databases to identify worthy recipients.
