Nimittabel Sports Complex Closes, Handed to Chulalongkorn University
The Nimittabel Sports Complex at Bangkok's National Stadium held its final futsal championship in September before being handed over to Chulalongkorn University on October 1, ending decades of use as a premier competition venue.
The Department of Physical Education, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, held the DPE WOW Futsal Cup 2026 school futsal championship from August 20 to September 16, 2569 at the Nimittabel Sports Building in the National Stadium, Pathumwan, Bangkok, with the finals completed on September 16. This tournament represents the final futsal competition and championship celebration to take place at the Nimittabel facility, marking the end of an era for the venue where school and world-class futsal teams have competed for many decades. From October 1, 2569 onwards, the Department of Physical Education will return the sports complex to Chulalongkorn University for continued management, along with the Wisuttharam Swimming Pool. This year's school futsal championship is the last junior-level title to be held at this historic venue.
