Pak Kret Deputy Inspector Assaults Commando at Karaoke Bar

A Pak Kret Police Station deputy inspector and his subordinates assaulted a commando police officer at a karaoke bar, causing a burst blood vessel in the officer's eye. The attack stemmed from a misunderstanding and alcohol influence, with the deputy inspector allegedly believing the victim was falsely claiming to be a police officer. The Nonthaburi Provincial Police Commander has ordered both criminal prosecution and severe disciplinary action, including potential dismissal, while transferring the accused to provincial headquarters to ensure an impartial investigation.

Authorities have revealed the cause behind a deputy inspector from Pak Kret Police Station leading a group to assault a commando police officer inside a karaoke venue, leaving the victim with a burst blood vessel in the eye. The Nonthaburi Provincial Police Commander stated the officer committed a serious disciplinary offense warranting dismissal.

The incident involved Deputy Inspector Sathaporn (surname withheld), deputy inspector of Pak Kret Station, who, along with subordinates, attacked Police Senior Sergeant Major Neung, a commando officer, by repeatedly punching him in the face at a karaoke bar, causing a burst blood vessel in his eye. The victim went to file a complaint at Pak Kret Station but feared he would not receive justice.

On November 4 at 10:00 AM at Pak Kret Station, Nonthaburi Province, Pol. Maj. Gen. Thammanoon Chaowawanich, Nonthaburi Provincial Police Commander, along with Pol. Col. Chokchai Kanchanacharoen, Deputy Commander; Pol. Col. Adirek Thongkaemkaew, Pak Kret Station Superintendent; and relevant officers held a meeting to follow up on the case where Deputy Inspector Sathaporn and subordinates assaulted the commando officer.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Thammanoon stated that after learning of the incident involving Pak Kret officers assaulting an officer from another unit, he did not want the public to perceive it as an inter-agency conflict. Questioning of Sathaporn's superiors revealed the assault stemmed from a misunderstanding: Sathaporn believed the commando officer was falsely claiming to be a police officer, which escalated into violence, compounded by alcohol intoxication.

The perpetrator's superiors have ordered action on all fronts following the assault report, vowing to proceed based on facts with no cover-up, as evidenced by clear CCTV footage. They are awaiting a medical certificate confirming treatment to file charges and forward the case to court immediately.

Pak Kret Station has also appointed an investigation committee. Initially, the accused will be transferred to Nonthaburi Provincial Police Headquarters to ensure investigative credibility and prevent allegations of bias. The commander emphasized this was not an inter-agency dispute but a misunderstanding over alleged false representation as a police officer, and acknowledged the perpetrators went too far.

CCTV footage shows the commando officer was sitting and drinking with his girlfriend when the deputy inspector approached to check his background, saying "I'm Pak Kret police" before leading the assault.

The Nonthaburi Provincial Police Commander has ordered both disciplinary and criminal proceedings against the deputy inspector and accomplices. Police or civilians acting in this manner are deemed inappropriate. Orders have been issued to all stations regarding conduct to prevent such incidents. Officers must maintain behavior befitting their status and build public trust.

Clear CCTV evidence exists. Civilian accomplices who joined the assault after seeing their leader attacked will also face charges. The commando officer suffered eye injuries with burst capillaries and is awaiting medical results. Criminal charges include assault causing bodily harm. Additionally, serious disciplinary offenses warrant dismissal or removal from service.
