People’s Party MPs Sue Creator Over False Flood‑Relief Food Claims
People’s Party MPs Pannika Wanich (Chhor) and Wutthakorn Nutayakul have filed a defamation lawsuit against a social‑media creator who falsely claimed they used other people’s food in flood‑relief efforts and presented it as their own. The party’s deputy spokesperson Phet Karinpol Thiansuwan said they will pursue the case to the end without compromise, urging the public not to spread false information during the flood crisis. The MPs stressed that the meal boxes were prepared by their team and assisted by military unit PTOR 1 Battalion 5.
Chhor, a People’s Party MP, said she had had enough after a creator posted distorted claims about flood‑relief food distribution, vowing to see the matter in court. Phet Karinpol Thiansuwan declared they would pursue legal action against the accuser without compromise until the case reaches a final judgment. The creator had posted pictures and text alleging that Chhor and the People’s Party took other people’s food to hand out and then claimed it as their own. Chhor (Pannika Wanich) later posted that she was busy with flood work and would keep it brief: the case involving her and MP Dave (Wutthakorn Nutayakul) is being taken to court, and they will meet there. She emphasized that the meal boxes were prepared by their team, that if they had used the premium ‘904’ rice they would look nicer, but the boxes are the simple foam containers of the Party of the Beggars. She noted that the soldiers assisting came from unit PTOR 1 Battalion 5, arrived as coordinated by MP Dave because many flooded areas were deep and required military trucks, and everyone involved worked together for several days without issue. She added that anyone who cannot tolerate seeing the People’s Party cooperate with the military to help flood victims may voice their frustration, but must not spread false information. Phet Karinpol Thiansuwan also stated that, despite differing political views, the party and the accused MP will prosecute the creator and anyone who continues to share the false claims, without seeking a settlement, and urged the public not to exacerbate the crisis with fake news.
