PM Insists on Following Law as NBTC Chair Continues Attending Meetings
PM Anutin Charnvirakul says his government will follow all legal procedures as NBTC Chairman Dr. Sorn Bunybaichaipruksà continues attending board meetings despite qualification concerns.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who also serves as Interior Minister, addressed the ongoing dispute surrounding NBTC board meetings on August 5 at Government House. Dr. Sorn Bunybaichaipruksà, NBTC Chairman, has insisted on continuing to attend and chair board meetings, though the PM said these matters are ultimately the NBTC's responsibility. However, Anutin emphasized his administration will strictly adhere to all legal procedures.
When asked if the government would await Senate approval before proceeding, the PM replied that all actions are being conducted lawfully with no violations. Regarding reports that a committee vote found Dr. Sorn lacked the necessary qualifications for his position, Anutin stated he would handle the matter according to legal requirements.
