When asked whether Phumijai Thai would retain all parliamentary seats from Suphan Buri in the next election, Anuthech said simply that "competition is competition." When pressed on whether a cabinet reshuffle would occur soon, Anuthech replied good-naturedly that he would "go slowly" with reshuffles.

On August 1st at a community center in Si Prachan district, Suphan Buri province, Prime Minister Anuthim Charnveerakul attended the birthday celebration for Bhumjaithai MP Prabhat Potsudhon, who turned 77. The gathering included top party officials, government ministers, and members of the rival Kla Tham party.

Addressing the crowd, Anuthim praised Potsudhon's decades of service to Suphan Buri and reflected on his initial uncertainty about the party's reception in the province. He noted that the warm welcome the party received during its first campaign visit instantly convinced him that Bhumjaithai would win the election. Anuthim pledged to honor all commitments made to residents and to improve the economy, agricultural prices, rice prices, and transportation infrastructure across the region.

On August 1, police from Huai Yai Station in Chonburi escorted suspects Thanat "Pong" Kaetthong and Thangchai "Thang" Srinil from the holding cell to Pattaya Provincial Court to seek their remand on charges of premeditated murder and concealment of five bodies.

Pong remained calm and silent during the escort, avoiding media questions and keeping his head down, though visible bruising was observed around his left eye. He did not explain his motive or apologize to the victims' families.

Thang appeared tense and kept his head down while walking to the police van. However, when he heard the voices of victims' relatives he recognized, he looked up and offered an apology, claiming he did not know the victims were a family and that he had been forced by Pong under threat to his own family's safety.

Victims' relatives who arrived to monitor the remand hearing expressed frustration, with many crying and demanding answers about why a father, mother, and child were killed. The family disputed media reports linking the victims to drug use, stating the female victim had reformed after serving a previous sentence and was running a legitimate pig farm and trading business. They confirmed the family had taken out daily loans to cover living expenses and their daughter's university fees, but the debt was manageable and being repaid regularly. They also stated they had never had major conflicts with Pong and rarely saw him in the area.

Succompsit Missachan, president of the Pattaya Bar Association, attended the police station to oversee the interrogation in accordance with law. He confirmed this is a serious criminal case carrying a potential death penalty, requiring lawyer participation under the Criminal Procedure Code Section 134/1. Both suspects have confessed during questioning, though details cannot yet be disclosed to protect the case. Regarding Pong's claim of mental illness, Missachan stated medical examination and expert confirmation would be necessary before the court determines whether it affects criminal liability.

Royal Thai military and Border Patrol Police arrested 18 Filipino nationals attempting to illegally enter Thailand across the Mey River in Phob Phra District, Tak Province, on August 1 at 11:00 a.m. Infantry Battalion 423 soldiers coordinated with Border Patrol Police Company 346 during a routine patrol of their assigned area when officers spotted suspicious individuals near the Mey River in Huay Nam Nak village, Phob Phra subdistrict, Tak Province. Investigation confirmed all 18 foreigners—comprising nine men and nine women—were undocumented Filipino nationals who had illegally entered the Kingdom without authorization. All detainees were taken into custody and handed over to Phob Phra Police Station investigators for legal action.

The Windsurfing Association of Thailand has selected nine athletes in the Techno 293 class to compete at the Techno 293 Asian Championship 2026 in Langkawi, Malaysia, from August 1-9, 2026. According to Pattana Bunsawat, secretary-general of the Windsurfing Association of Thailand, the competition serves as preparation for the Youth Olympic Games scheduled for October in Senegal, as well as training for the Southeast Asian Games next year in Malaysia, which will be held at the same venue.

The nine-member squad includes open men's champion Nawin Singsat ("Jaayim"), youth women's competitor Kornakanya Pantong ("Ungying"), youth men's athletes Suphachoat Chuea-tatong ("Park") and Suphachai Chuea-tatong ("Palm"), youth women's racers Wannida Wintachai ("Joy"), Natchathida Wirco ("Ta"), and Pornpavit Butratae ("Venus"), and youth men's competitors Ittipol Yomjinda ("Biu") and Puchit Changkanok ("Keng"). On August 1, 2025, police led by Deputy Commander Theerachat Theerachatdhamma ordered the arrest of Kanthaphum (aka Aek), 46, based on a Nonthaburi Court arrest warrant issued March 28, 2024, for nighttime theft. Officers arrested him at Bangkok's Central Station.

The suspect committed theft at a convenience store on December 18 and 19, 2567 by posing as a customer. He placed a backpack in a shopping basket, removed beer from a cooler and hid it in the backpack, then positioned the bag near an ice cooler near the exit. He purchased only ice at checkout using cash, then retrieved the backpack and left without paying for the beer.

Store staff discovered the thefts through CCTV footage and found the suspect attempted the same scheme a third time in the same month. Security recognized his face from previous footage and confronted him until he confessed. Investigators learned he had targeted multiple nearby convenience store branches with identical methods, prompting store managers to warn each other via group chat.

While being processed for fingerprinting, the suspect requested a bathroom break and attempted to flee. Officers later tracked him traveling from Southern Thailand back to Bangkok and arrested him again. During this second arrest, he again tried to escape by requesting bathroom access and offering to take out garbage, but officers remained vigilant.

Under interrogation, the suspect admitted that in late 2567 he opened a papaya salad shop in Muang Thonburi that failed. Struggling with severe alcohol addiction, he decided to steal beer from convenience stores, timing his thefts during busy customer periods to avoid detection. He was transferred to Pak Kret police station for legal proceedings.
