On July 6, 2025, the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) coordinated with consumer protection authorities and the Department of Health Services to shut down two illegal beauty injection clinics and arrest two suspects operating unlicensed cosmetic injection services from residential homes. Police seized 66 types of medicines, medical supplies, and equipment totaling over 1,110 items valued at more than 200,000 baht.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Natthasakdi Chaovasai, CIB Commander, warned that patients should verify clinic and doctor credentials before treatment to avoid risks from unqualified practitioners. He emphasized that facial areas contain numerous blood vessels and nerves, making unauthorized injections particularly dangerous and potentially causing permanent disfigurement.
Authorities urged illegal practitioners to cease operations immediately, warning of continued crackdowns and prosecution. The public can report suspected unlicensed clinics to the consumer protection hotline 1135 or the consumer alert Facebook page.
The investigation began after complaints led the Department of Health Services to request an inspection of unlicensed Botox, filler, and skin treatment providers operating without medical licenses. Suspects advertised services through Facebook with discounted rates starting from 790 to 4,990 baht, operating from modified residential homes in Bangkok and Samut Prakan.
At one residence in the Bang Khun Thian area on June 29, 2025, police found Ms. Thanya, age 31, administering Botox injections without proper licensing. She admitted to completing only vocational training and learning injection techniques through on-the-job experience at various beauty clinics over 6-7 years. After leaving formal employment, she offered services independently through Facebook promotions, serving 2-5 clients daily with monthly earnings of 100,000-120,000 baht.
