The Royal Thai Police, under the direction of Police Lieutenant General Siam Boonserm, have launched a comprehensive anti-drug initiative titled the Sustainable Subdistrict Project at Sala Ruam Jai Phatthana Community in Ratsada Burana district, Bangkok. Senior police commanders, including Deputy Police Commander Theeradeche Dharmsuthee, led teams that partnered with community leaders, health agencies, school administrators, and local officials to execute the integrated national anti-drug strategy.
The operation went beyond routine inspections, aiming to restore hope and new life to residents. Police teams visited homebound patients to distribute welfare packages and delivered learning equipment to early childhood development centers. The police believe that children who receive proper care and opportunities grow strong and remain insulated from drug addiction cycles.
The key achievement was advancing toward sustainability through open dialogue. Senior commanders held forums with village committee members and residents without hierarchical barriers, distributing essentials as morale boosters to vulnerable populations and those completing drug rehabilitation. Future efforts will include active psychological care measures and vocational promotion for recovered patients, ensuring they have dignified livelihoods and do not relapse.
The operation represents a beginning rather than an endpoint. With all sectors unified, complete drug eradication from Bangkok is within reach.
