Police Question Beer Bar Owner's Sister in Fire Investigation
Police are questioning the beer bar owner's sister as the death toll from a deadly fire reaches 30, with investigators also gathering witness statements as the critically injured owner remains hospitalized in the ICU.
Police are questioning the sister of the Ladprao beer bar owner as the death toll from the fire stands at 30, with 27 identified and 3 awaiting identification verification. On July 14, 2569, Deputy National Police Chief Pallop Uamhla presided over a progress meeting at Phaholyothin Police Station following interviews with 17 witnesses the previous night. Since the bar owner remains in critical condition with severe injuries and is hospitalized in the ICU, police have requested his sister provide information about the establishment and interview all people involved.
Ms. Prabharaksa, girlfriend of the bar's sound engineer who was injured in the fire, visited Phaholyothin Police Station to claim her boyfriend's belongings and vehicle parked behind the bar. The vehicle was undamaged but the car key may be lost inside the bar or with investigators. She revealed her boyfriend had worked as the bar's sound engineer for approximately 3 years on a daily wage basis with no benefits or social security, relying only on his health insurance card.
Her boyfriend sustained severe burns covering approximately 60 percent of his body and inhaled significant smoke, resulting in kidney failure and a large abdominal wound of unknown cause—possibly from a blast impact—as he was thrown outside. He is currently in an isolation room on a ventilator but conscious. He is being treated under the critical emergency patient (UCEP) program and may need to be transferred to a gold card hospital in Lopburi province after 72 hours, though his family is anxious about moving him while his condition remains critical.
Ms. Prabharaksa expressed concern about transferring a patient in unstable condition and uncertainty about additional medical costs if treatment cannot continue under his current benefits. She noted the family has limited financial capacity and cannot afford substantial medical expenses. She also revealed that since the incident, neither the bar owner nor any representative has contacted them to inquire about his condition or discuss assistance. She recounted that when the fire occurred, she learned about it through a friend's phone call informing her he had been taken to the hospital. Though he initially managed to exit the site, his condition deteriorated at the hospital due to severe burns and smoke inhalation.
