Nonthaburi police raided a Sai Noi gambling den, arresting 43 people for illegal bean gambling and seizing equipment and 7,000 baht.
Acting on a tip-off, Nonthaburi police raided a rented house in Sai Noi district where 43 gamblers were caught playing illegal bean gambling. The gamblers were so absorbed they did not notice officers entering until ordered to stop. The house owner, the dealer, and all players were arrested and charged, while gambling equipment and cash were seized.
On November 5, 2026, Pol. Lt. Col. Suphachai Srisak, Superintendent of Nonthaburi Provincial Police, disclosed that at 11:00 p.m. on November 4, he led a team including Pol. Lt. Col. Natthadecha Thanisphattharapong, Superintendent of Sai Noi Police Station, and Pol. Capt. Rewati Suriya, Deputy Superintendent of Sai Noi, along with investigators from Nonthaburi Provincial Police and Sai Noi Police Station. They were joined by Nang Sao Sa-at Phimsub, Sai Noi District Chief, and administrative officials to search a house in Nong Phrao Ngai subdistrict, Sai Noi district, Nonthaburi province.
The raid followed a citizen report that the house was operating as a clandestine gambling den, with unfamiliar vehicles coming and going all day. Upon entering, officers found 43 gamblers sitting in a circle playing bean gambling intensely, oblivious to the police presence until officers announced the raid, causing the gamblers to look up in shock before being detained.
The homeowner, Mr. Wiroj (surname withheld), 49, admitted ownership and was charged with allowing premises to be used for illegal gambling (bean gambling). Mr. Donphum (surname withheld), 49, confessed to being the dealer and was charged as an operator of illegal gambling. The remaining 29 men and 12 women were charged with participating in illegal gambling.
Seized evidence included 26 money-scooping sticks, 12 plastic betting baskets, 7 notebooks for recording numbers, a dice set with tray and lid, a watch, a score board, three 1,000-baht notes, and forty 100-baht notes, totaling 7,000 baht.
Police had earlier received intelligence about numerous cars and motorcycles parked around the house. Undercover officers confirmed gambling had been ongoing for 3-4 days, prompting coordination with district officials for the raid. All suspects confessed during questioning and were handed to Pol. Lt. Col. Dechrit Saengchansri, Deputy Inspector (Investigation), for prosecution at Nonthaburi Provincial Court.
