Region 3 Police carried out a sting operation at a well-known beer bar in Thanyaburi, arresting the owner and five Vietnamese women who were working as drink companions and secretly selling sex. On October 20, 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Thongprod Sirisukha, commander of Region 3 Police, and Pol. Col. Chinnawut Tangwongleak, deputy commander, ordered Pol. Lt. Col. Suriya Puangsumbat, superintendent of the Region 3 Investigation Division, and Pol. Maj. Thaninrat Prayoonsorn, deputy superintendent, to lead an inspection team after receiving intelligence that a beer bar in Bueng Nam Rak subdistrict, Thanyaburi district, Pathum Thani province, was employing Vietnamese women to sit and drink with customers while covertly engaging in prostitution.
Officers conducted a planned sting and inspection, finding five Vietnamese women — three serving as drink companions and two others caught in prostitution-related activity during the buy-bust, with marked money seized as evidence. Document checks revealed some of the foreign women were working without permits, others beyond the scope of their permits, and one Vietnamese woman was overstaying her visa.
During the raid, a 44-year-old man identified as Mr. Thongchai (alias) presented himself as the owner, admitting he leased the premises to sell alcohol and cigarettes and had hired the foreign women. This matched statements from all five women. He was initially charged with operating a prostitution business and employing foreigners without work permits or outside legal conditions. All five women face charges according to their individual offenses — prostitution, illegal work, and immigration violations. Police also seized three account ledgers and related documents, handing the case to Thanyaburi Police Station for further legal action.
