Police Bust Child Sex Bar Free Three Teens in Thailand
Police in Nakhon Si Thammarat arrested a 43-year-old beer bar owner for running a child sex trafficking operation, rescuing three teenagers aged 15 to 16. The raid followed an undercover purchase of child services for 3,500 baht. The suspect faces multiple charges including human trafficking and procurement of minors for sexual exploitation.
On October 13, Anti-Human Trafficking Police led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Witaya Sreeprasertphap, Pol. Col. Ahlongkot Chachoeng, and Pol. Lt. Nattapon Dawwiang raided the bar after investigations showed it was operating as a karaoke venue where customers could buy children for sexual services upstairs in the building's hotel. Undercover agents bought a child's services for a total of 3,500 baht, leading to the arrest of Thanchanyakon, who was found in possession of the entrapment money. Officers rescued three victims, aged 15 to 16, and transferred them to the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Children and Family Shelter. Staff confirmed the bar charged customers 500 baht to take a child upstairs, with the owner arranging the deals. One victim, a 14-year-old identified as 'Eve', said she had recently come from Bangkok to work, was invited to drink and chat with guests, and after only a few days was sent out for sex twice—first for 15,000 baht and then for 10,000 baht—but received only 15,000 baht in total. Although Thanchanyakon initially gave a partial statement, police did not believe her and filed multiple charges, including human trafficking from child prostitution, procurement, operating an unlicensed sexual services business, benefiting from prostitution, and various offenses related to the exploitation and delinquency of minors. The suspect has been handed over to investigators for further legal proceedings.
