Police Seize 4 Million Baht E-Cigarettes Bound for Bangkok
On October 13, 2026, police in Samut Sakhon intercepted a truck carrying approximately 9,600 e-cigarette units worth over 4 million baht destined for Bangkok. The driver, 32-year-old Hou Saifee, said he was hired for 7,000 baht by a Malaysian to transport plastic containers for fruit to Talad Thai market in Pathum Thani. He has been charged and transferred to Bang Toirat Police Station for legal proceedings.
Police Lieutenant General Naradech Tiprak ordered the operation, with senior officers leading forces from Region 1 Investigation Division and Provincial Police Division 1 to intercept a truck on Rama II Road in Tambon Bang Toirat, Mueang Samut Sakhon. Officers seized approximately 9,600 e-cigarette units valued at about 4 million baht, two mobile phones, and arrested 32-year-old Hou Saifee, the driver of the truck bearing Ayutthaya license plate 72-5367. According to police, the seizure followed a May 31 arrest of a five-member gang selling e-cigarettes from a warehouse in Samut Prakan, which led investigators to uncover a network transporting e-cigarettes from the south to central Thailand and Bangkok. Hou Saifee told investigators that a Malaysian had hired him for 7,000 baht to drive a truck carrying plastic containers for fruit to Talad Thai market in Pathum Thani. He has been charged and transferred to Bang Toirat Police Station for further legal proceedings.
