Police Bust E-Cigarette Warehouse in Bangkok, Seize 100 Million Baht
Police in Bangkok seized over 300,000 e-cigarette items worth more than 100 million baht in a raid on two warehouses in the Thonburi area. Seven employees were arrested while packing orders; their employer is still being sought. The operation followed an undercover purchase that revealed the warehouses were used as distribution centers for online sales.
Police raided two e-cigarette warehouses in Bangkok’s Thonburi side after an undercover purchase led investigators to the sites. The first warehouse, a three-story townhouse at 168 Soi Somdej Phrajao Taksin 28 in Bukkhalo, Thonburi, was found fully stocked with e-cigarettes spread across all three floors: the ground floor held about 17,500 boxes (roughly 175,000 units), the second floor 15,000 boxes, and the top floor 5,000 boxes, totaling over 300,000 items worth more than 100 million baht. Officers arrested seven employees who were in the process of packing orders for their employer; the employer remains at large and is being pursued. The second warehouse, located in Bang Lamphu Lang subdistrict, Khlong San district, was also a three-story townhouse but was empty of occupants; police seized additional e-cigarette evidence there. Police Major General Chotiwut Leuangwilai said the suspects had used the warehouses as distribution hubs, storing incoming e-cigarettes before shipping them out through online sales.
