At 10:00 a.m. on October 2, 2026, Police Lieutenant Prasertdech Desaopa of Mueang Chachoengsao Police Station was notified of a woman electrocuted in front of her house in Village 7, Bang Phai Subdistrict, Mueang Chachoengsao Province. Relatives placed the victim, 67-year-old Nuanlao, in a six-wheel truck to take her to Phutthasothon Hospital, but she died before arrival. The victim’s daughter, 46-year-old Praphapan, arrived at the hospital devastated. She explained that that morning she and her parents had gone outside to inspect the floodwaters. Her mother noticed a power line from a pole had fallen into the water, thought it was safe, and grabbed it to lift it out. The line was live, causing an electric shock that knocked her mother to the ground. After learning of the incident, Praphapan ran to the nearby Bang Phai Subdistrict Office to request help; a six-wheel truck was dispatched to drive her mother through the flood to the hospital, but the mother’s condition worsened and she died before reaching the hospital. Rescue personnel then transported her body to the hospital’s mortuary for examination. Doctors found no other abnormalities and released the body to the family for religious rites.
